A letter to my prospective clients:
First of all, I am so sorry that you have found yourself in this situation. I've been divorced myself and I know it can bring about feelings of shame, sadness, and failure. It can also be the beginning of freedom and happiness. Whatever the situation, I want to make it as easy for you as possible. How I do that is by listening to you, answering emails from you - no matter how many you send, giving you truthful advice - even if it not what you want to hear, fighting for you, and advising you. Sometimes I find myself protecting you, from you. Comforting you - I do my best to give you the information you need, when you need it. I can't take away the pain or make decisions for you. But I can be prepared, have a positive and supportive attitude, and be ready to go to battle if need be.
I have been told I am known as a shark, a barracuda, a pit bull, a bulldog, and a bitch. These are supposed to be good things when it comes to the practice of law! The reason I am such a bully in the court room and with the opposition is because I truly care about my clients. I promise you I am a nice, friendly person when it doesn't come to fighting for my client's rights. That is not to say I don't resolve cases when cases need to be settled. Knowing the law helps me give you the best advice for your case.
What I love about my job - and I still love my job, is that I help people. When someone comes in that is at the bottom, feeling miserable and hopeless, I help them see the light. It is truly a victory to finish a case with a client who is happy and ready to start their new life. Change is inevitable. I want to make it positive. No matter what the situation I will not judge you. You need not be in fear of reprisal from me, except when it impacts your case adversely.
Many of my clients want me to get out my crystal ball and tell them what will happen. I can't give you any guarantees and I can't read minds or crystal balls! But I can give you the benefit of my years of legal experience in Madison County and the surrounding areas.
Make an appointment and come in to talk to me about your case. You can also email me at Leigh@LegalAPC.com. I will be happy to respond, no initial charge.
